01 Does my voice ever leave my computer?
No. Transcription runs locally on your device using the on-device engine. The only network traffic Dictivo makes is a license activation check and a periodic update manifest fetch — no audio, no transcripts, no metadata about what you said. See the security page for the full breakdown.
02 Why isn't it faster than a cloud transcription service?
Because the speech model runs on your device, not on a GPU farm. That trade is the whole point of Dictivo — you give up a small amount of latency in exchange for never sending your voice off the machine. Standard mode is fast enough for drafting in real time; Accurate mode takes a little longer and is meant for clean exports.
03 Is the $59 a one-time payment?
Yes. Pay $59 once and Dictivo is yours. All v1.x point releases are included. v2.0 will be a paid upgrade at 50% off the then-current price for existing license holders.
04 What happens when the 14-day trial ends?
Dictivo keeps launching, but it pauses dictation until you enter a license. Your settings, history, and local dictionary stay intact — drop in a key and you pick up exactly where you left off.
05 How many devices can I use one license on?
Up to 3 personal devices — for example, a work Mac, a home Mac, and a Windows laptop. Need to move a license between machines? Deactivate the old device from settings and the slot frees up immediately.
06 Can I get a refund?
